How to Edit a Character in SoCreate Screenwriting Software

There are 3 ways to edit a character in SoCreate Screenwriting Software.

  1. To edit a character from the Story Toolbar:
    • Navigate to your Story Toolbar and hover over the character whose details you wish to change.
    • In the pop out click the three-dot menu icon.
    • Then click Edit Character.
  2. To edit a character from your Story Stream:
    • In the Story Stream, hover over the character whose details you wish to change.
    • In the pop out click the three-dot menu icon.
    • Then click Edit Character.
  3. To edit a character from a Dialogue Stream Item:
    • From the three-dot menu icon in a dialogue stream item, click Edit Character.
    • From within the Edit Character pop out, edit character details.

You can change your character’s name. And you can change the character’s type from the dropdown of options that includes descriptive words such as female, male, nonbinary, alien, creature, animal, and machine.

Use the Age box to change your character’s age.

You can also edit the image you’re using to represent your character by clicking “change image.” Browse from thousands of image options, or, reference which images you’ve used for other characters in your story by clicking “Used in Story.”

Find additional image collections in the Filter By dropdown menu. For example, choose to only see Doodle images, or only see real people.

And use image tags to filter your character selections down even further. For example, filter by traits like age, face shape, skin tone, hair color, and more.

Once you’ve found a great replacement image, select that image and click Save Character.

You’ll now see your updated character in every place in which your character appears.
