An Oscar-Winning Screenwriter and a Playwright Walk into SoCreate …

… but it’s no joke! The only punchline here is in the wise words that two-time 2019 Oscar-Winning Screenwriter Nick Vallelonga (The Green Book) and popular playwright Kenny D’Aquila bestowed upon us during a recent visit to SoCreate’s headquarters in San Luis Obispo. They gave us a ton of a great feedback on the SoCreate Screenwriting Software and taught us a few tricks of the trade while they were here (more videos on that later). We were honored to host these two partners in crime. Unorganized Crime, that is.

That’s the title of their latest joint venture, a mafia story with a bit of humor thrown in, which began as a highly regarded stage play of the same name. D’Aquila wrote, produced and starred alongside actor Chazz Palminteri in the production. D’Aquila tapped Vallelonga to direct and Palminteri to co-write the promotional short film version of the story, which he hopes will get the attention of production companies and networks. Eventually, we could see Unorganized Crime play out as a TV series, starring D’Aquila and Palminteri once again.

And when that happens, we hope this talented trio will consider using SoCreate as their software of choice. We were thrilled to get the demo in front of Vallelonga and D’Aquila to hear what they had to say.

“We’re working on Unorganized Crime, and Chazz and I have worked together on that pilot script, so there were a lot of times where I got frustrated about how we were communicating, and sharing information, and putting it back into the script,” D’Aquila said. “So, I have to tell you, I’m looking forward to giving [SoCreate] a try. And I think it’s going to be a lot more user-friendly for television writing because you are collaborating with other writers and getting their feedback and their scenes and their notes. It’s seems to me like it’s going to be a big win, a big win for you guys.”

“If someone wants to start and doesn’t know how, anything that makes it easier to get the thoughts across and get the story across, it’s great,” Vallelonga said of SoCreate. “I think for beginners, and also I mentioned this while we were looking at the software, I think for collaboration, it’s a really good tool. So, I’m looking forward to see how it comes out.”

“I’m very impressed with your offices here and what you guys are creating,” D’Aquila added. “I think it’s fantastic and I wish you guys luck, and I’m looking forward to using it.”

And we’re looking forward to seeing Unorganized Crime on our TV screens! Thank you to both fantastic film pros for taking time to visit SoCreate. We can’t wait to see what you do next.

Screenwriter Adam G. Simon Wowed by SoCreate Screenwriting Platform

“Give me the f***ing software! Give me access to it as soon as possible.” – Screenwriter Adam G. Simon, reacting to SoCreate Platform demonstration. It’s rare that we allow anyone to see how the SoCreate Screenwriting Platform works. We fiercely protect it for a few reasons: We don’t want anyone to attempt to copy it, and then deliver a sub-par product to screenwriters; The software needs to be perfect before we release it – we want to prevent future frustrations for screenwriters, not cause them; Lastly, we’re certain that the platform is worth the wait. We’re revolutionizing screenwriting over...
