This week's exercise takes us into a classroom with characters Astrid and Chance. Astrid is lost in her daydreams, oblivious to the ongoing class, while Chance observes her from two rows back.
Writing Challenge
Location: INT – Classroom – Day
Characters: Astrid; Chance
Scene Description: Astrid (12) taps her pencil on her desk, eyes to the sky, oblivious to what her teacher is saying to the class. She glances forward and daydreams about the cute boy sitting two rows ahead of her. Chance (12) sits behind her two rows back and looks at her oddly.
Prompt: Write a scene where Astrid thinks to herself, “Good thing no one can hear my thoughts,” but then Chance responds. He can hear her! And he can speak to her! How does the conversation, happening completely telepathically, proceed before their teacher realizes something is up?
