Location: INT – Department of Motor Vehicles – Day
Characters: Duane; Janice
Scene Description: Duane (34) anxiously taps his foot while looking at the ticker that displays the number next in line. He’s number 48. Janice (55), a DMV employee bordering on retirement, calls number 12. Duane is losing his cool.
Prompt: Write a scene that flips Duane’s attitude from negative to positive when something unexpectedly happy happens right in front of him at the DMV. What does he see, and what conversation does he hear between whom?
Extra Credit: Create an Alias for one of you characters, locations, or props! To create Aliases, type the '@' sign to open the Quick Add tool, then click the Add Alias link next to the item you would like to add an alias to. Aliases enable you to refer to a Character, Location, or Prop by an alternate name. Suppose you have a character named Duane, but you would like to refer to him as "The Dude" or "D-Man", you would want to add these names to the character Duane as aliases, then you can @mention the character "Duane" by @The Dude or @D-Man. You can do the same for Locations and Props.
By using SoCreate, you can quickly start writing without worrying about formatting, and let your imagination roam free with their location and character imagery tools. You can even track your previous writing challenges from your SoCreate dashboard and build on them later.
