What a fun way to cap off our week! Last Friday, our team took a trip to the Downtown Centre Cinema in San Luis Obispo to watch the newest addition to the intergalactic film franchise—Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Our team arrived at the theater just after 8:30 am geared up for a fun time outside of the office. We were all shocked to know that theaters even played movies that early in the day! Perhaps for Star Wars, they were willing to make a special exception.
After waiting patiently in the courtyard for the theater to open, it was show time (literally!) We filed into the theater and found our seats. Over the next 2 hours and 15 minutes, our team followed the story of Young Han Solo as he journeyed through the galaxy in search of his next risky smuggling adventure. The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival just a few weeks ago, has already brought in an impressive $14.1 million, a Memorial Day Weekend record according to Variety.
Once the movie was over, our team headed over to Milestone Tavern for some lunch. All down the table, our team was talking about the movie—what they liked, what they didn’t like, and how they thought that this movie tied into the on-going Skywalker story followed in the other 8 movies. The discussions covered questions from fan theories to what font the Star Wars opening is (It’s called Univers, in case you’re curious). And somewhere in between all this talking, we had a chance to enjoy a tasty lunch.
We are proud to report that we all enjoyed the movie and had a fantastic time! No better way to head into the weekend than with some fun team bonding time.
A huge thank you to Justin, our CEO, for the great day!
