SoCreate is growing its outreach team, with the addition of our new director of community outreach, Courtney Meznarich.

Courtney joins SoCreate at a crucial juncture: over the next several months, we’re preparing to revolutionize screenwriting, and Courtney will help us shout it from the rooftops! Courtney’s background spans journalism, performing arts, marketing, and public relations, making her uniquely qualified to tell SoCreate’s story.

Courtney’s love of writing started in a Paso Robles High School journalism classroom, where she quickly rose to editor-in-chief of the Crimson Chronicle, reporting on weekly trials and tribulations of her fellow teen Bearcats. She later wrote for the Orange Coast Report at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California, before moving back to her native San Luis Obispo County to earn a journalism degree from Cal Poly. During that time, Courtney discovered CPTV (Cal Poly Television) and her love of all things visual storytelling.

She started her career at an NBC affiliate as a TV news producer and assignment manager. Later, she explored agency life at a marketing and public relations firm, where she crafted compelling client stories to help small businesses, city governments, and corporations connect with their audiences.

As an artist at heart and with a head full of outreach knowledge and experience, Courtney is thrilled to have found a match in SoCreate.
